Levocetirizine is consumed with or without food. Take this medicine as a single dose. Levocetirizine is consumed usually in the evening. This is because Levocetirizine may cause
dizziness.
Typical Dosage
The typical dose of Levocetirizine is 5 mg once a day. The usual dose for children is 2.5 mg once a day. Levocetirizine is commonly used at the same time every day. It takes 1 hour for this medicine to start to work. This medicine is not known to be habit-forming.
This medicine should be used on an
as-needed basis. If used for the treatment of allergies, the medicine can be stopped once the symptoms have disappeared and can be restarted again if symptoms reappear. If you experience symptoms for more than four days a week or for more than four weeks a year, your doctor may ask you to continue the treatment. Your treatment may continue as long as you are exposed to substances that cause your
allergy.
If using the liquid form of this
medicine, measure the dose using the provided measuring cup, spoon, or dropper. Before pouring the medicine into the measuring device, you should check the measurement markings carefully. Then, pour the dose amount into the device. After use, clean and store the measuring device in a safe place for your next use. You should not use a tablespoon or teaspoon as the dose measuring devices since it can result in an incorrect dose. If indicated on the product package, shake the
medicine before use.
Talk to Your Doctor
Talk to your doctor if your condition does not improve. If you have any kidney disease, a low dose of Levocetirizine will usually be given.
Taking a higher dose of this medicine may increase the risk of
side-effects. Older patients may see an increase in the incidence of side-effects with this medicine. As a result, a lower dose may be recommended for older patients.
Use in Children
If you are giving
Levocetirizine to a child, be sure to use a product that is meant for children. Before giving this medicine to a child, use the child's weight or age to find the right dose from the product package. You can also read the

Avoid Alcohol
Avoid the consumption of
alcohol with Levocetirizine.
Medicines may be prescribed for uses other than those listed in the medicine guide. Do not use
Levocetirizine for conditions for which it was not prescribed. Do not give Levocetirizine to other people who might have the same conditions or symptoms that you have. Self-medication may harm them.
